Company: Finning Canada Number of Openings: 1 Worker Type: Permanent Position Overview: The Director of Machine Delivery Planning & Execution oversees the end-to-end process of machine deliveries—from the moment a customer order is received (or a purchase order to vendor) to the successful delivery to customer site. This role requires strategic thinking & planning with strong operational execution skills, cross-functional coordination, problem resolution and hands-on execution to ensure timely, cost-effective, and customer-centric delivery operations. The ideal candidate will be a customer focused individual who has the leadership skills to deliver through the team and strong commercial acumen. Job Description: Order Intake & Planning Review and validate customer orders for delivery feasibility Develop and maintain delivery schedules aligned with New Equipment Prep (NEP) and customer timelines. Coordinate with sales, NEP, and other teams to align on realistic & reliable delivery commitments. Execution & Coordination Lead the end-to-end delivery process including Prep execution, transportation, and final handover. Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements. Ensure internal customer relationships are maintained at a high level to achieve trust in the overall process Provide leadership to deliver the end-to-end strategy and maximize the benefit for our customer Management of costs and working capital to minimize gross margin erosion, lower SG&A and consistent levels of free cash flow Monitor delivery milestones and proactively resolve issues that could impact customer satisfaction or operational efficiency Process Optimization & Documentation & Reporting Identify and implement process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction. Establish & monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, cost per delivery, and customer feedback. Maintain accurate records of delivery plans, execution status, and post-delivery feedback. Generate regular reports for senior management on delivery performance and improvement initiatives. Leadership, Strategy & Cross-Functional Coordination Lead and mentor direct-report Managers responsible for planning and execution of machine deliveries, fostering a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results. Set clear goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews to ensure team alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement scalable delivery strategies that align with business growth, customer demand, and supply chain capabilities. Allocate resources effectively across planning and execution teams to optimize throughput and minimize delays.
