Saturn has an opportunity for a 16-month Exploitation Engineering Internship/Coop Student based in the Calgary, Alberta office staring May 2026. Reporting to the Manager, Exploitation Engineering, the Student will collaborate with the technical teams as a support on operational and engineering matters.
Some specific duties, and responsibilities of the Engineering Student include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate new wells/projects which includes establishing production expectations and generating economics and recommendations
- Analyze completion, drilling, geology and production data for wells to refine expectations or suggest enhancements to future programs
- Perform decline analysis and verify production forecasts for producing wells
- Conduct financial analysis and review lease operating statements
- Generate and lead technical presentations of your work to team and management
- Prepare and submit government applications
- Build and curate business intelligence tools for the engineering team like Power BI dashboards
- Attend, where applicable, internal and external meetings
- Support other engineers and managers with ad hoc requests as required.
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program, pursuing an undergrad degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum or Civil and eligible for Coop/Internship programs
- Student must be able to commit to the full 16-month term, starting in May 2026
- If applicable, the student must be willing to relocate to Calgary for the duration of the term
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical skills with experience in PowerBi would be considered an asset.
