OVIN is looking for a Strategist & Research and Insights Analyst who can combine sharp research and data-driven insights with bold workforce strategy. This is a unique role at the intersection of talent development, workforce planning, and sector innovation—designed for someone who thrives on turning data into action and vision into outcomes.
You’ll be at the center of Ontario’s flagship mobility initiative, driving workforce strategies that directly connect people to jobs while building the talent pipelines needed for EVs, batteries, connected/autonomous tech, and next-gen mobility.
What You’ll Do
- Lead talent strategies: Design and execute workforce planning initiatives with industry, academia, and government partners to strengthen Ontario’s automotive and mobility workforce.
- Spot future trends: Analyze labor market data, technology shifts, and skills gaps to create targeted training programs for emerging technologies and sustainable practices.
- Tell the story with data: Turn research, metrics, and insights into compelling narratives that influence decision-making and showcase impact.
- Support funding applications: Contribute research, data, and strategic insights to funding proposals and applications, ensuring alignment with sector needs and OVIN’s workforce priorities.
- Own Strategy end-to-end: Create programs and track milestones to deliver measurable workforce outcomes.
- Shape thought leadership: Publish sector insights, timely reports, and rapid-response analyses on emerging trends and developments in the automotive and mobility sector.
- Be the expert: Act as a go-to knowledge leader on trends in EVs, connected/autonomous tech, batteries, and mobility innovation—guiding OVIN, OCI, and partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- 5–7 years of experience in consulting, strategy, workforce/talent initiatives, HR, project management, or research roles.
- Strong background in research, analysis, and data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Excel, PPT).
- Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, engaging insights and recommendations.
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, and a passion for shaping the future of work in the automotive and mobility sector.
- Experience supporting funding applications and proposal development is a strong asset.
- Education in a relevant discipline (engineering, analytics, workforce development, information sciences, or related fields). Graduate-level training is an asset.
