The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior System/Network Administrator to join our IT team. This entry-level position is ideal for talented recent graduates or individuals with 2-3 years of foundational knowledge of IT systems and networking who are eager to grow their careers in systems and network administration. You will assist in maintaining and supporting our organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across systems, networks, and end-user environments.
Primary Responsibilities
• Monitor and maintain servers, workstations, and network devices.
• Assist in configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
• Support day-to-day IT operations, including user account management, permissions, and system updates.
• Perform routine network administration tasks (switches, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi).
• Respond to helpdesk tickets and provide technical support to end users.
• Assist with patch management, backups, and system monitoring.
• Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, network improvements, and cloud work.
Requirements
This is an ON-SITE position located in Welland, Ontario.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365 administration is an asset.
• Experience with virtualization platforms.
• Exposure to cloud services.
• Scripting knowledge.
• IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Fundamentals.
