Senior Technical Marketing Specialist – Customer Identity (CIAM)
Do you like building things, explaining how they work, and helping others
succeed? Join Okta's Product Marketing team and help define the CIAM industry
with the Auth0 and Okta platforms. Where we help developers and product teams
create trusted sign-in experiences for millions of users. Companies like
JetBlue, HPE, and Dignity Health use our CIAM products to power customer and
partner logins across mobile apps, APIs, and websites.
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Technical Marketing Specialist who enjoys working
hands-on with technology and explaining it clearly. In this role, you'll help
bring Okta's identity products to life through demos, content, and tooling that
showcase how they work. You'll build apps (often in Next.js), use SDKs, and
sometimes work on mobile experiences to show what our platform can do. You'll
also help create marketing assets — from videos to walkthroughs — that support
product launches and sales conversations.
This is a great opportunity if you have some experience building technical
content or apps and want to grow your skills in developer tools and product
storytelling.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build demo apps (web and occasionally mobile) using Next.js and
Okta/Auth0/third-party SDKs to showcase product capabilities.
- Write technical content such as blog posts, how-to guides, internal
enablement, and demo scripts.
- Create and record product demos using tools like Camtasia, Figma, Adobe
Premiere, or After Effects.
- Collaborate with product, product marketing, and sales teams to support
product launches and customer conversations.
- Learn and explain platform capabilities and CIAM use cases, including
authentication, authorization, user management, and developer tools.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Okta/Auth0’s CIAM platform,
including its features, benefits, and target use cases.
- Create compelling technical content, such as tutorials, sample code, and best
practices guides, to help developers integrate and utilize Okta/Auth0’s CIAM
solutions.
- Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations at conferences, webinars,
and customer meetings.
- Work closely with product management and engineering to translate technical
product information into clear and concise marketing materials.
- Provide technical enablement and training to sales teams and partners.
- Gather and analyze feedback from developers and customers to improve product
messaging and marketing strategies.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in CIAM and the broader
identity management space.
Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- 1–3 years of experience in product marketing, developer relations, or
technical writing — or equivalent hands-on experience building and explaining
apps.
- Comfortable using web frameworks like Next.js and integrating APIs or SDKs.
- Some experience or interest in mobile app development (e.g., React Native or
native iOS/Android).
- Ability to explain complex topics simply through writing, video, or demos.
- Familiar with design or editing tools like Figma, Adobe Premiere, or
Camtasia.
- Strong understanding of web development concepts, APIs, and SDKs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to
present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience creating technical content, such as blog posts, tutorials, and
documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced
environment.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is helpful but
not required.
- Experience with identity and access management concepts (e.g., OAuth, OpenID
Connect, SAML) and/or platforms (e.g. Auth0, Okta) is a plus.
