Job Description
Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, Servers Assistants are extremely knowledgeable about all food items regarding specs, allergens, and dietary restrictions. By adhering to the steps of service they answer questions, provide and create a positive guest experience as well as provide support for both the Servers and Bartenders by inspecting all tables for the proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness. Servers Assistant They practice a high level of floor awareness as well as assist with running and monitoring food quality to ensure all items are held to O&B presentation standards.
THE DAY TO DAY
Create a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service
Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage items in order to explain items to guest
Answer questions about food and other restaurant functions and services
Memorizing seat-specific floor plans so to not auction food when it is delivered to the table
Ensure accuracy when delivering food to the guests
Monitor food quality and presentation standards
Ensure table maintenance in maintained throughout all types of service
Practice a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required
Respond promptly and courteously to any guest request or concern
Monitor the cleanliness of section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
Be thoroughly familiar with the causes of food contamination and the methods of prevention
Follow all food safety standards and systems
Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
Complete opening, closing and side-duties efficiently and safely
Other duties as assigned or required
FT/PT for Mornings & Afternoons
Qualifications
A Degree/Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent considered an asset
Smart Serve Certification a requirement
High attention to detail
Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
Organizational skills
Ability to take direction and prioritize
Strong oral and written communication skills
High level of product knowledge
Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
Reliability and flexibility in scheduling needs
Legally eligible to work in Canada
