Our Substation group has opportunities for Students to join our growing team as Project Coordinators for work terms, based in Calgary, AB.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, we are seeking eager, organized engineering students with a strong interest in building their careers in our powerful sector of the construction industry. The Project Coordinator (Student Term)s will provide support to construction management teams and will help move projects forward by maintaining project schedules, managing costs, and ensuring strong communication among team members as well as assisting with the coordination of materials, logistics, and reporting. This role contributes to the overall success of the project while offering the student valuable field, construction industry and project management experience.
Please Note: These positions are based in our Calgary office and require the students to be in Calgary for the duration. We have options for 4/8/12/16 months terms.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating staff, resources, and workflows, supporting construction management teams on-site and in the office
Support project planning by scheduling tasks, deadlines, and milestones to meet time, cost, and quality objectives
Track and report project progress through updates, presentations, and other reporting tools
Facilitate communication between field staff, design engineers, clients, and other stakeholders
Provide technical engineering support, including calculations, reporting, and assistance to the Quality Department
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to support execution
Develop and maintain project processes, procedures, and data systems, including inventory management
Support multiple departments with scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, documentation, and filing
Assist with on-site management by preparing reports, collecting documentation, and maintaining project records
Maintain confidentiality and security of all employee and project information
Perform additional tasks as needed
Currently enrolled in an Engineering program with at least one semester remaining
Previous experience or exposure to the construction industry is an asset
Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation
Ability to interpret project schedules and timelines
Familiarity with project management processes and best practices
Proficiency with standard computer programs, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation tools
