Join our team today!Job DescriptionOsler has temporary part-time Respiratory Therapy Clinical Extern positions available in the Respiratory Therapy Department at both our Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital sites. Explore your next career opportunity with a progressive organization where our people are at the heart of everything that we do.Accountabilities:Practices under the direct and/or indirect supervision of the Manager, Respiratory Therapy, team leaders, educator and respiratory therapy professionals and in a manner consistent with organizational policies and professional standards while taking into account CRTO guidance for unregulated health care providersWorks with respiratory therapy staff to ensure that they have the knowledge, skills and judgment needed to perform all requested actionsCircuit, check and test ventilator circuits/assemble respiratory therapy equipmentCheck inventory and record stock levels, rotate equipmentData collection as per direction of Respiratory Therapy team leadersAssists with area, room safety by ensuring the environment is clean and tidy and free of hazardsRequests assistance with assigned duties whenever in needDemonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skillsDemonstrates excellent organizational and time-management skillsParticipates as a team member/Professional in all interactionsQualificationsRespiratory therapy students enrolled in their first, second or third year of an accredited respiratory therapy programDemonstrated evidence of excellent academic standingCurrent certificate in Basic Cardiac Life Support requiredCompletion of mandatory/required certifications provided via corporate orientation, including extern orientation, and as defined by unit (e.g., mask fit test, WHIMS, AODA, IPAC)Demonstrated infection prevention and control practicesEffective interpersonal and communication skillsFlexibility, willingness and ability to work between multiple Osler sites as requiredMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationAdditional InformationHours: Currently days/evenings/nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)Note: Clinical externs will be hired on contract, during which the clinical extern will work part time hours (minimum 15 to 24 hours per week) to a maximum of full‐time hours (37.5 hours per week)Internal application deadline: October 13, 2025Salary:$22/hourly #TPT#LI-RS1Osler values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
