The Senior Technical Quality Engineer provides support to the Lead/Manager,
Quality Engineering and is responsible to support driving quality using
predefined processes and tools within Tangerine. Responsibilities focus on the
development and support of automation tools, solutions and process improvements
to enhance and maximize automation (API/UI) in compliance with governing
regulations, internal policies and procedures. This resource will report
directly to Manager or Senior Manager, Quality Engineering.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will
- Support QE automation and solution development activities through the
enhancement and maintenance of test automation technologies across all
channels; web, mobile back office
- Define and implement technical approaches to solutions, conducting R&D and
leveraging opportunities to innovate within the testing and quality domain
(process / tools / automation)
- Coach and provide mentorship to junior resources within the team in various
areas including business domain, functional testing, automation and
non-functional testing while ensuring the test teams are compliant with
Tangerine test methodologies and industry best practices
- Where applicable, select and develop appropriate test automation tests,
applying the latest techniques in test automation (e.g. data-driven testing)
across API and UI
- Collect strategic, technical and operational test metrics. Analyze current
defects and test execution trends and extrapolate data for predictive
analysis
- Work with QE leads, managers and shared services teams to monitor the status,
effectiveness, efficiency and quality of testing deliverables
- Working within an agile or waterfall methodology to support delivery teams
across testing requirements including, Functional/Non-functional Testing
(including automation), Integration Testing, APIs, Regression Testing,
Accessibility Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Production Acceptance Testing
and other types of testing as required
- Drive the creation, support and on-going maintenance of Tangerine Quality
Engineering knowledge repository and facilitate the governance and continuous
improvement for Quality Engineering processes
- Work under the guidance of the Lead/Manager/Sr. Manager and be a
participantant in discussion with vendors related to testing methodologies,
tooling, resources, POCs
- Develop and maintain good professional working relationships, especially
within the test team and with those who interact regularly with the test team
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love

- University or College Degree or equivalent experience in Computer
Science/Engineering
- 5+ years of testing experience within the capacity of Software Quality
Assurance
- Knowledge of testing background in the Canadian financial services industry
- Development background an asset
- In depth knowledge with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred with
a solid understanding of general project management, SDLC and TDLC principle
- High proficiency within API REST/SOAP testing and demonstrated ability to
automate using industry standard tooling such as REST Assured, Postman etc.
- Extensive experience with test automation tooling such as Selenium, Appium,
WebDriver IO, or equivalent
- A solid understanding of coding structure and best practices with hands on
experience developing frameworks and technical solutions
- Extensive knowledge with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript,
Spring boot, Python and other scripting languages
- Hands-on experience with Mobile testing (iOS / Android devices) and related
solutions such as Soasta Touchtest, Perfecto Mobile UFT and Smart Bear Test
Complete
- Experience working within a DevOps environment and related cloud technologies
with a solid understanding of CI/CD process and related tooling; GCP,
Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
- Must have Unix/Linux Intermediate experience and be comfortable working in
both Windows and Mac environments
- Ability to utilize or evaluate AI-powered tools and frameworks with the goal
of optimizing and expanding automation coverage
- Competent in/working knowledge with various tools including Defect Management
Tools, Requirement Management Tools, Test Management and Planning Tools, Web
Content Management tools and concepts, Banking systems and their integration
- CTFL, ISTQB, CSQA, CSTE good to have
