About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Estimator to support
delivery of commercial building projects around the Calgary area. This position
will lead execution and development of the project pipeline, and will work
directly with the company owner in supporting overall business growth through
bidding, project selection, business development, and project strategy.
Role Description
You will oversee management oversight of all phases of commercial and
residential construction projects, including employees, subcontractors,
materials and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and
work is proceeding with quality, on schedule and within budget. You will also
have the opportunity to take a leadership role, working directly with company
ownership to help develop company growth strategy and overall project selection.
Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day management of multiple projects, including commercial
tenant improvements, commercial new builds, and residential renovations
• Create estimates and bids for potential projects
• Manage all facets of construction including communication with owners,
consultants and sub trades
• Management of on-site personnel including Superintendents, Foremen and Support
Staff
• Oversee project set-up, scheduling, and cost control
• Direct regular site meetings with sub-contractors, architects and consultants
• Work with superintendents to deliver safety-oriented, on schedule, high
quality projects
• Prepare progress invoices/sub trade invoices; change orders to Owner and Sub
trades
• Develop potential business opportunities and seek out potential projects
Skills and Requirements
• Experience as a project manager on commercial tenant improvement building
projects is a must
• Ability to manage and provide guidance for multiple projects at once
• Desire to work directly with the senior leadership team and support the
continuing growth of the company on a long-term basis
• Proven ability to lead a dynamic team with multiple priorities
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Ability to find quick solutions and implement them proactively as problems
arise day-to-day
