The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Retail Media Platform team. You will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines that power our advertising ecosystem. Your work will enable internal and external users to create, manage, and report on advertising campaigns while ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of our data infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to work on high-scale ad tech solutions, collaborating with product managers, analysts, developers, marketers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure data drives our business decisions.
What You’ll Do:
Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support the Retail Media Platform.
Build and maintain data models, semantic layers, and reporting structures to power self-serve analytics.
Develop and optimize real-time streaming pipelines and dashboards for campaign reporting and analytics.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that support various consumers, including product, marketing, operations, and analytics teams.
Implement testing, validation, and monitoring strategies to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
Optimize performance across data pipelines, queries, and workflows to handle large-scale, high-velocity datasets.
Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to create a data-first culture and drive hypothesis-driven product development.
Support the business by providing ad hoc reporting and insights for data-driven decision-making.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, analytics, and ad tech.
What We’re Looking For:
Technical Expertise:
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing and pipeline development.
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also acceptable).
Hands-on expertise with GCP technologies such as: BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics.
Bigtable and Druid (or similar non-relational data stores).
DataProc, DBT, Airflow, or equivalent tools for orchestration and transformation.
Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance.
Experience designing and implementing data models and semantic layers.
Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming dashboards.
Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development workflows.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts, data governance, and data quality best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience in AdTech or retail media platforms is highly desirable.
Familiarity with real-time bidding and high-volume ad-serving systems.
Exposure to event-driven architectures and real-time analytics platforms
Understanding of machine learning pipelines or integrating ML-driven insights into reporting.
Soft Skills & Collaboration:
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, balancing multiple priorities effectively.
Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.
