This position supports both internships and co-ops and requires you to be on-site to perform the job duties and ideally the candidate will start in May 2026 and be available from 4-8 months.

Salaries range from $3,300-$4,350.00 per month (based on your year in school and previous experience).

What You’ll Do
When you join our team as a Silviculture Intern/Co-op, you will be assisting the Silviculture Team with the implementation of active projects (tree planting, site preparation, stand tending) and taking part in various silvicultural surveys from Post-Harvest Assessments to Free Growing walkthroughs. This work will be conducted within our operating area, which reaches from Kamloops to Blue River and Eastward past Adams Lake. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to collect data on and monitor ongoing trial sites, and will help in the preparation of 2027 programs through layout and data entry. In addition, students will have exposure to other departments including Operations and Development. This role is a field-office split, with 80% of time spent in the field, rain or shine. Work is conducted Monday – Friday in various parts of the Interfor Adams Lake Operating area and may occasionally require overnight stays in Clearwater or at the Interfor Camp, on the shores of Adams Lake.
What You Offer
Currently enrolled in a recognized university or college forestry program.
Have a minimum of one field season of silviculture experience.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, ArcView GIS, GPS technology.
Have a valid driver’s license.
Physically fit and able to spend considerable time working in a forested environment.
Solutions and innovative mindset
Organized and detail oriented
Excellent communication skills and a drive for task-completion
Be team-oriented, and able to work with colleagues and contractors on dynamic programs.
