The Tax and Treasury Manager is responsible for managing the obligations for tax reporting and compliance along with the day-to-day financial management for dentsu Canada and local affiliates. Tax Preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements including but not limited to Income taxes;- Sales taxes (GST/HST, and QST); and Excise taxes Monitoring the CRA and revenue Quebec correspondence Review and submit government tax audits; internal/external financial audits Calculation of a consolidated tax provision for approximately 11 corporations along with subsequent true ups Responsibility for the preparation of the General Ledger entries and reconciliation for the above Overall assessment with “fresh Eyes” of the overall position of the conglomerate and fresh thinking / move towards best practices a strongly desired asset Treasury Manage the working capital monitoring and cash forecasting Work on forecasting of balance sheet values for quarterly forecasting process Work on short term cash forecasts for liquidity management; and Understanding the daily cash position and arranging overseas deposits as needed Assistance with Foreign exchange & related hedging Monitoring of credit insurance and client financial risks Assistance with analytics and commentary on financial results vs forecast of balance sheet Develop and implement process improvements Client & Internal Relationships: Collaborate in preparing and delivering work to colleagues & clients Respond to requests for information quickly and accurately Engages with all work-related contacts in a professional and respectful manner Establish strong internal relationships with agency personnel Assist as a facilitator who can act to assist as needed in a variety of situations and considering counterparties needs and different points of view Strategic Thinking & Leadership: Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical and rational manner Proactively resolve issues, know when to and to whom to escalate Guide team members nurture/promote team environment Assist in constructing and delivering accurate, honest and timely performance management documents Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to transition among them seamlessly Concerned with Day 2 and “so what” implications of management decisions Communications Skills: Expresses oneself clearly and concisely in oral communications Writes in a clear, compelling and concise manner Organizes ideas and information logically and sequentially Develop reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive Qualifications: University Degree in business administration, finance or accounting Experience with Canadian taxation laws vital to success CPA certification Thorough understanding of the financial process Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles Thrives in a fast pace, constantly changing environment Advanced Microsoft Office skills The salary range for this position is $100k-$120k. Actual salary within the salary range will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, and skills.
