Job Description: Major Job Responsibilities: · Own parts of the cloud architecture and production operations of our most business-critical multi-regional cloud services · Work in a growing team of highly skilled DevOps/SRE engineers and cross-functional teams. You will be the voice of experience to our more junior team members and contractors · Closely work with other groups at Finning (e.g. IT, security) and our vendors · Work with stakeholders to establish a roadmap and gain adoption for DevOps/SRE best practices and technologies (cloud architecture, automation, monitoring, CI/CD, etc.) · Hands-on, take the lead to implement critical elements of the roadmap, delegate detailed tasks to other DevOps/SRE engineers or developers · Support development teams in the setup, release, and operations of services in various environments · Establish SLIs/SLOs in close collaboration with stakeholders, guide their implementation and continuous improvement against them · Be on-call to operate production systems, triage and resolve production issues, escalate issues to other tiers, act as incident commander, run post-mortems · Set, meet and report on targets for operational excellence, performance, reliability, security and costs Education & Experience · 5+ years of experience in a DevOps/SRE role · Proven experience, desire, and skills to shape DevOps/SRE practices across an organization · Highly skilled and hands-on in cloud architecture and related best practices: Kubernetes, SQL and NoSQL databases, storage technologies, networking, data platforms · Hands-on experience with CI/CD, IaC and release management of microservices based systems (Azure DevOps, Terraform preferred) · Hands-on development experience building DevOps/SRE tooling (e.g. automations) to remove toil · Proven track-record defining and executing production operations processes against customer SLAs (monitoring & alerting, incident handling, post-mortems, change management, on-call rotations, reporting) · Proven track-record implementing data-driven decision-making processes · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience · Relevant industry certifications (e.g. ITIL, Cloud architecture) are a great asset At Finning, we prioritize creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
