Job Overview:
As a Content Operations Manager, you will report to the General Manager of the
Sports Portfolio, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and
execute strategies that enhance the performance and profitability of Valnet's
sports brands: GIVEMESPORT.com, TheSportster.com, FootballLeagueWorld.co.uk and
FootballFanCast.com.
Responsibilities:
- Review and streamline content processes to maximize traffic growth and
audience engagement.
- Enhance publisher brand equity through strategic multimedia investments such
as video, images, newsletters, podcasts, and high-quality articles.
- Provide insights and guidance on optimizing social media strategies for
increased engagement and audience reach.
- Lead and mentor a team of sports content experts, fostering a culture of
innovation and excellence.
- Evaluate website performance and competitor analysis to identify areas for
improvement and implement strategic enhancements.
- Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive business plans to achieve set
goals and objectives.
- Allocate investment budgets strategically to enhance publishing operations
and drive growth initiatives.
- Deliver regular progress reports to management, highlighting successes and
gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
- Stay on top of industry trends, emerging technologies (e.g., AI), and best
practices to maintain competitive advantage within the publishing vertical.
- Manage a P&L up to the gross profit level, focusing on revenue growth and
cost optimization within the sports portfolio.
- Operate within a fast-paced environment, meeting goals and objectives within
tight deadlines.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in roles such as Operations Manager, Content
Management, Managing Editor, Business Analyst, within sports media,
publishing, or entertainment.
- A proficient understanding of content creation and search engine optimization
(SEO).
- Analytical skills, with a proven ability to use data to drive
decision-making. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Excel, or
other data analysis platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to
present ideas clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- A passion for the sports sector and a solid understanding of digital
publishing, content monetization, and audience engagement strategies.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Capable of
managing projects independently while contributing to team objectives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving
priorities. Comfortable managing multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
