Position Summary
The Accounting Clerk at Stella-Jones plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and supporting various accounting functions. Your keen eye for detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively will ensure smooth financial operations.
This position is based at our office in Gormley and will be a hybrid role (3 days in office and 2 days remote) after a period of training and integration to the team is complete.
Key Responsibilities
Invoicing & Billing:
Process customer invoicing in the ERP system.
Gather and review shipping documents to ensure completeness.
Reconcile freight and service orders weekly to ensure proper invoicing.
Enter invoicing details into the truck load system.
Ensure timely invoice delivery to customers, including third parties and intercompany transactions.
Maintain invoicing and sales data across all systems as per procedures.
Accounting Support:
Support month-end closing tasks, including report generation and accruals.
Administrative & Other Duties:
Maintain organized records for audits and financial tracking.
Crosstrain with other accounting and administrative staff to provide backup support.
Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
College diploma in Accounting and 2+ years of Accounting-related experience –or– High School diploma and 4+ years of experience
Excellent knowledge of accounts payable processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent attention to detail and ability to monitor and check work for accuracy
Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills
Effective interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
ERP experience (such as SAP) an asset
