The Opportunity As a Recreation Team member, you will lead planned and spontaneous activities that help residents develop skills, expand knowledge, and build personal connections. Recreation Therapy Aide (RTA) play a key role in enhancing residents’ daily experiences and nurturing meaningful relationships. What You Will Do Maintain accurate department records and complete all documentation within required timelines, including Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes, ActivityPro entries, and monthly calendars. Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the recreation program and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Ensure recreation supplies and related tools/resources are maintained in good working condition, adhering to infection control policies and procedures; report any deficiencies to the Program Manager. Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Travel within the province may be required for education sessions or meetings. What You Bring Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree program in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field from a community college or university Currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field, with the intent to successfully complete the program within three years of hire. Knowledge and experience in providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting is an asset. Holds a Class 5 Driver’s License, with willingness to obtain a Class 4 License.
