Join our team! Hino Central is looking for Heavy-Duty Technician Apprentice 3 at our Calgary location! Reporting to the Parts and Service Manager, the Heavy-Duty Technician is responsible for providing repairs and maintenance to various heavy & medium duty transport trucks. This position will employ logic and deductive reasoning in diagnosing and troubleshooting in an independent environment.

What You’ll Do:
Work under the direction of a Journeyman Technician
Maintain a positive teamwork environment and safe practices
Assess work orders, diagnose faults and malfunctions by inspecting the vehicle using testing equipment, shop manuals, mechanical and electrical experience and training
Dismantle faulty assemblies and repair or replace worn or damaged parts
Reassemble, adjust, and test new or repaired components
Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
Document work performed, general vehicle conditions, and future repair requirements within work order or estimate sheet
Test drive vehicles when required
Maintain a clean work environment / station
Carry out all training as assigned
What you’ll bring:
Registered as an Apprentice, or intent to register, with the governing body
Must have a mechanical and electronic aptitude and have the ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be a team player and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Share our commitment to exceeding our customers’ expectations
Familiarity with Hino systems and components is considerate an asset
Knowledge of Cummins engines or systems is considered an asset
Possession of Class 3 driver's license is considered an asset
