Role description:
Role accountabilities:
Lead the design and integration of railway signaling systems for commuter rail, LRT, and subway projects.
Manage multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate with civil, systems, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration.
Develop signaling design strategies, specifications, and drawings in compliance with applicable standards.
Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment and approvals.
Oversee design schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to meet project milestones.
Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance checks.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence and team development.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 12 years of experience in railway signaling design, preferably within Canada.
Proven experience leading signaling design on large-scale transit projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree is an asset.
P.Eng. license in Ontario is preferred; candidates must be eligible to obtain licensure.
Strong knowledge of Canadian railway signaling standards and practices.
Familiarity with CBTC, conventional signaling, and interlocking systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $178,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
