Job Description What is the opportunity? The Data Scientist will design, implement and deliver algorithmic, model-driven, statistical or machine learning solutions in consultation with business stakeholders. You will work with stakeholders to understand the data and systems in place, and to identify opportunities to apply predictive & prescriptive analytics. This role will act as an expert consultant in big data and modelling for RBC Insurance Product and Pricing Research & Development team. What will you do? •Support the development and implementation of longevity, mortality and morbidity risk models •Apply data science methodologies including descriptive, predictive, machine learning and AI techniques from design to implementation •Participate in the review, enhancement and maintenance of existing predictive risk models in the life insurance context •Apply a variety of statistical tests and modelling techniques to identify and recommend improvements to models and undertake related initiatives. Ensure extensive testing of model sensitivity that help with assessing model behavior and risk •Explore and characterize in-house data as well identify suitable external or population data sources relevant to understanding and predicting mortality and morbidity experience •Provide effective recommendations based on actionable insights – delivered in a way that is understandable by the business What do you need to succeed?
