Solutions & Analytics
Description
The Manager Business Solutions & Analytics performs a number of functions that
drive Operational Excellence within Canada. This position takes a leadership
role in executing key initiatives such as Sales Force Effectiveness, OmniChannel
development, Data Enablement, and Commercial Insights. This role partners with
all commercial departments to drive commercial success.
Essential Job Duties
- Partnering with local sales leadership, this individual will be responsible
for the management of local sales reporting, metrics and dashboards;
including standardization and automation. This includes being the primary
contact with any consultants and vendors involved in these activities.
- Responsible for all local sales data management and data hygiene.
- Lead with internal sales and finance partners on territory-level forecasting
and quota development.
- Business insights lead for assigned business unit or therapeutic area. This
includes proactively conducting rigorous analytics to uncover new business
opportunities and insights as well as establishing appropriate benchmarks in
order to support the development of actionable strategic and tactical
recommendations based on findings.
- Lead the development of all ad-hoc sales analyses and data visualizations.
- Oversight of all local scheduled reporting as well as Ad Hoc reporting.
- Management of Sales Execution Plan (SEP) reporting.
- Support the development and output of Incentive Compensation Plans (ICP) for
all APCA sales teams
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- University-level degree in a business-related field.
- 3-5 years of analytical experience including data analysis and reporting –
preferably in the pharmaceutical space • Strong interpersonal skills with the
ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees including senior
management.
- Working knowledge of various statistical modeling techniques and their
application within complex analytical projects, e.g., regression modeling,
promotion response modeling, ROI etc.
- Proven success working in a cross-functional and matrixed environment
- Proficient in systems administration, configuration, and function
- Sound knowledge and cross-functional experience in data modeling and
architecture, and associated KPIs and dashboards
- Creating business cases; building plans and scenarios
- Root cause modeling and solving
- Politically astute, able to challenge respectively and constructively
- Impactful, collaborative individual, building and maintaining credibility
with all stakeholders, able to deliver results through influence and
persuasion
- Inquisitive, curious and innovative. Able to think outside the box and
develop curiosity into innovation
- Competent and confident at holding others to account
- Excellent project management skills and adept at multi-tasking and
prioritization
- Strong working knowledge of VEEVA CRM and/or Salesforce
- Experience working with Data Visualisation Software such Qlikview, Tableau or
PowerBI
- Strong working knowledge of IQVIA data sources, including but not limited to
TSA/TCR, CompuScript, Xponent, and CD&H.
- Extensive computer proficiency with desktop software in a Windows environment
including prioritization, Excel, MS Access, and PowerPoint.

- Masters level degree in business, mathematics, or life sciences
- Pharmaceutical industry experience

- This hybrid position is based in Markham at the Astellas Pharma Canada Home
Office and will require on-site work.
