Multi-Scope Project Manager
Reports to the Project Director on all matters, the Multi-Scope Project Manager oversees and audits all aspects of his/her assigned project(s). From the award of the project, through drafting and design, take off and breakdown, to production, delivery, and installation, the Multi-Scope Project Manager ensures the project meets all schedules, within the prescribed budget and scope, while mitigating/managing risk and client expectations. Duties and responsibilities include but are limited to the following:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management or Civil Engineering;
Project Management Professional Certification or working towards it is an asset.
Years of Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of Project Management experience.
Working Conditions
In-Office work culture and site work setting
Work environment requires wearing PPE for all site work and in certain other locations;
At times requires driving to visit sites, clients or suppliers to pick up samples;
Full Health and Safety training required (Working at Heights, WHMIS);
Follow Health and Safety standards on site; and
Flexible to work overtime as required.
Senior Level
Knowledgeable in the industry and know about Window Wall, Curtain Wall, Railing, and Metal Cladding product lines and systems;
Ability to develop tools and techniques to perform tasks efficiently;
Detail oriented with the ability to read architectural drawings;
Ability to act as a mentor to Project Coordinators
Communication daily by telephone, email and in person;
Write letters, memos and emails;
Proved ability to make competent and educated decisions;
Ability to work on many projects that are large and complex;
Discretion, judgement, and tact to handle confidential information;
Lead the project effectively by following Company standards and protocols without supervision;
Demonstrate State's core values and work in a team environment; and
Ability to work independently without supervision.
Job Specific Duties
Study the project (scope of work, specifications, and other tender documents) and identify any discrepancies;
Review the project contract at project start up;
Attend/lead Project Launch meeting recording meeting minutes along with action items list with person(s) responsible and due date;
Fill in and maintain State Project Schedule actively auditing throughout the project to ensure adherence to State's commitments to the client and legal requirements as per the contract
Attend turn/CFT reviews, recording meeting minutes and collection from SME action items list with person responsible and due date;
Actively manage the Risk Review Tracker ensuring stakeholders will complete assigned tasks OTIF (On Time In Full)
Fill in and provide client State QA plan
Check and ensure receipt of all necessary drawings/documents/RFI/SI's/throughout the project for engineering department. Examples include (Architectural, Slab Edge, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical in CAD and PDF - preferably IFC drawings);
Manage, audit and notify all stakeholders to ensure all are adhering to State's commitments to itself and customers for Budget, Scope, Schedule;
Inform the Project Director if the Budget, Scope, Schedule cannot be met with corrective action plan;
Champion mock-ups, reviews and action items from said mock-ups;
Review samples with coordinator prior to requesting from purchasing;
Ensure all milestone meetings are organized, as per SOP's including:
Scope of Work Meeting before shop drawing start;
Material Take Off meeting before ordering the material;
Project Launch meeting;
Kick-Off Meeting;
Any special meetings deemed necessary due to new design or new product; and
Project Close-Out meeting;
Send Requests for Information (RFI's) to the client to clarify discrepancies or ask Project Coordinator to send;
Audit Construction Management software to ensure deficiencies are under control as required;
Ensure effective action logs and meeting minutes are recorded from all meetings and follow up accordingly;
Review meeting minutes completed by Project Coordinators;
Identify situations where necessary to arrange and Champion any meetings required to execute the project successfully bringing together all stakeholders efficiently for an effective solution;
Maintain Project dashboard daily
Initiate E-request
Ensure final door sizes and frit-glass information are given to purchasing ahead of time to avoid delay in delivery;
Request and follow up with the Field Manager for site measurements if project is not guaranteed;
Review and file Engineer’s and 3Rd party consultants field reports entering all action items into Construction Management Software
Provide CCO through Construction Management Software for State stakeholder and client review & approval;
Create a closeout Action Plan ensuring all deficiency items are complete and documents are provided to the client
Populate Lessons Learned log and conduct meeting with stakeholders
Attend, as required, scheduled consultant, coordination, and site meetings;
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties, if necessary, to meet deadlines;
Represent State, as requested, in business with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other public and/or private agencies and organization;
Oversee Project Coordinator and Field Manager
Any other tasks assigned by the Project Director.
