Senior Marine Structural Engineer

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is hiring a Team Lead, Marine Structural Engineer to join our growing Power & Transportation team in Vancouver. You’ll be working on marine and civil infrastructure projects in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
As part of our Vancouver office—where many of KCB’s largest infrastructure projects are delivered—you’ll contribute to the growth of our ports and marine engineering business, reporting directly to a Senior Department Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead technical design work while mentoring junior staff and contributing to major infrastructure projects in Canada and internationally.
What You’ll Do
Lead engineering design for ports, harbours, and large civil infrastructure projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and drafters
Mentor junior staff and help grow the technical capabilities of the team
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project summaries
Participate in site visits to gather design input and ensure quality throughout project phases
Foster strong client relationships and contribute to business development
Occasionally travel within Canada and abroad
What We’re Looking For
P.Eng. registration in Canada (or eligibility in BC); P.E. (USA) is an asset
20+ years of progressive engineering experience, including project delivery in port engineering or similar heavy civil projects
Strong technical design experience in:
Reinforced concrete and structural steel
Foundations (piled and other), marine structures, and earthworks
Seismic and marine-specific design
Effective cross-disciplinary coordination skills
Proven team leadership and ability to communicate across all levels
Excellent verbal and written English and strong report writing capabilities
Familiarity with construction scheduling for large projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
The salary for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
