About the Role
We are looking for a Behaviour Interventionist (BI) to join our multi-disciplinary team reporting to the Behaviour and Development Services Manager on a full time basis to work with children birth – 19 years of age. The Behaviour Interventionist would use family-centered, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approaches to provide consultation, assessment, intervention and monitoring.
General Responsibilities:
Use teaching methods to target specific program goals as directed by a Behavioural Consultant and implement teaching programs and other interventions as outlined on the student’s behavioural plan of intervention.
Write accurate session notes and maintain files.
Case management and report writing.
Contribute to a strong team environment.
Attending and participating in regularly scheduled team meetings.
Collecting data, monitoring, recording and reviewing client progress with consultant and other team members.
Develop, teach, and demonstrate the strategies of positive behaviour support.
Run group sessions
Qualifications:
Registered Behaviour Technician training preferred.
High school diploma, two years post-secondary education in a related field preferred (psychology, education, social work, etc.)
Additional Requirements:
Current Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle for work use, preferred
Available Monday to Friday, and be able to work flexible hours as needed.
Experience working with children is preferred but not required
Successful completion of a criminal records check
