Overview
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for shipping, receiving, and recording the movement of parts, supplies, materials, and equipment. The Logistics Coordinator must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment.
Responsibilities
Receive inbound purchase orders.
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
Follow proper procedures to process sales orders for outbound shipping.
Package product securely for transit. Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions.
Schedule pickups and drop offs for major couriers.
Prepare international paperwork required such as commercial invoice, certificate of origin, B13, and any other as required.
Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
Follow up on timely outbound deliveries and advise of any issues and discrepancies.
Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents manually or by computer.
Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances.
Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
Ensure proper housekeeping.
Maintain a safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma
Three (3) years of shipping and receiving experience
Experience with filling out waybills, bills of lading and international shipments
Forklift certificate
Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment would be considered an asset
