Join Canada’s Law Firm as we accelerate growth in our thriving Calgary market. You'll partner directly with our Regional Managing Partner to develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue, deepen client relationships, and elevate BLG's market presence across Western Canada. More specifically, this role will focus on: Strategic Planning & Execution: Lead regional BD strategy development and implementation, translating market insights into actionable growth plans Revenue Generation: Identify new business opportunities, coach lawyers on client development, and drive cross-practice collaboration Client Relationship Excellence: Orchestrate educational and social events and targeted networking initiatives that strengthen partnerships Market Intelligence: Analyze competitive landscape and emerging trends to position BLG strategically in key market opportunities Team Leadership: Guide Regional BD Specialist while collaborating with national Clients & Markets team Primary Responsibilities You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy variety and hands-on execution alongside strategic thinking: Contribute to and advise on business development strategies, identifying trends and opportunities in Calgary and the broader Alberta market Develop, execute and implement the initiatives set out in the annual Regional Business Development plan, in consultation with the Regional Managing Partner and Regional Group Managers, through oversight of the Regional BD Specialist, and in collaboration with national Clients & Markets team members Develop client proposals and capability statements that win business Plan and execute high-impact events (webinars, client entertainment, industry conferences) in collaboration with the regional Events Specialist Manage regional BD budget and track ROI on marketing initiatives Create and update client personas using database analytics Coordinate cross-office collaboration on major opportunities Produce market intelligence reports that inform firm-wide strategy Support new legal professional hire integration and business development training Key Competencies Undergraduate degree in Business or Marketing/Communications 7-10 years total experience, including 4+ years in professional/legal services environment Strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution, analytical problem-solving, and natural curiosity about market dynamics Familiarity with RFPs, pricing strategies for professional services, financial analysis Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and Dynamics365 Proven relationship-building excellence and ability to maintain an executive presence Adaptable, innovative, results-driven with the ability to identify challenges and opportunities and execute to completion in a deadline-driven environment Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a high-performing team and high-pressure environment We thank all applicants for their interest in this position, however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
