Job Description: Position Purpose summary: The Training Coordinator is responsible for supporting the design, development, coordination, and delivery of training programs for employees at the Edmonton Centre of Hope. This role plays a key part in enhancing employee skills, supporting organizational development and aligning training initiatives with the Centre’s strategic objectives. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Administration, the Training Coordinator develops comprehensive instructional materials—both print and digital—to meet mandatory training requirements, while ensuring compliance with internal policies, funder obligations and external accreditation standards. This position also maintains accurate training records and provides timely reporting on training participation and outcomes. Accountabilities: Coordination, Design, Development and Facilitation Coordinate the efficient execution of existing training programs within the organization Assist in the recruitment process by identifying training needs for new hires and coordinating orientation programs to ensure a smooth onboarding experience Support the design, development, and facilitation of new training programs that meet organizational and funder requirements Assist in identifying skills and knowledge gaps in the organization by supporting regular training needs assessments and contribute to the research, design and development of training programs to address those gaps. Collaborate with management to help identify training needs and contribute to the development of appropriate training sessions or resources. Collaborate with the Director of Administration to create instructional materials (print and digital) to support new learning objectives and to update existing training programs Develop and maintain training calendars, schedules and timetables for both in-service and external training to ensure timely delivery of required training Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including booking facilities, arranging equipment and communicating with training participants Serve as liaison between trainers and employees, ensuring that training materials and resources are accessible and current Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and recommend improvements where necessary. Stay informed about emerging training methods, technologies, and best practices to enhance program quality and efficiency Ensure compliance with internal policies, funder obligations, and applicable regulatory standards related to mandatory training Maintain and manage training materials and resources as required Provide administrative support to trainers as required Monitoring and Reporting · Track and monitor employee participation in mandatory training programs Maintain accurate and complete training records in accordance with organizational standards and external accreditation requirements Prepare and distribute regular reports and updates on training activities, completion rates, and outstanding requirements to management All other duties as required Practicum Student and Volunteer Services Maintain practicum contracts with post-secondary institutions Assist program managers (if needed) to interview potential practicum students to determine role and program suitability Liaise with post-secondary institutions to facilitate student placements within our programs Conduct the necessary reference checks and coordinate the recruitment and onboarding for practicum students May assist with volunteer services as required CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Governance Boards and Councils: None Internal: Leadership team, department managers, staff Student Placements, Volunteers External: Potential volunteers, student placements Partnering training agencies MANAGERIAL Leadership RESPONSIBILITY This position reports directly to the Director of Administration This position has no direct reports May act as a workflow coordinator for volunteers FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT: Confidential personnel files, database and reports Volunteer & Practicum Student files, database, and reports WORKING CONDITIONS: Working environment is typically in the office in generally agreeable conditions. Education and Experience Qualifications: Education, Qualifications and Certifications: Completion of a formal post-secondary program of two (2) academic years in HR Management, Business Administration, or other related field. Must have valid Drivers’ License and clean Drivers’ Abstract Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check Experience and Knowledge Requirements: Minimum of 1 years’ experience in coordinating and administration of training preferably within a non-profit or social services environment Minimum 1 year facilitation experience is required. Demonstrated experience assisting in the design and development of training content is preferred. Experience developing instructional materials, both printed and electronic, including e-learning content Knowledge of training program design, adult learning principles, and assessment methods Skills and Capabilities: Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities. High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and professional approach. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining alignment with organizational goals. Weekly Scheduled hours: 40 Target hiring range for this position is Min at $49,912.66 per annum to Max at $74,869.00 per annum. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $49,912.66 to $62,390.83 with a maximum of $74,869.00.
