Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Director, Finance and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBH), the MANAGER, STAFF SCHEDULING is responsible for: Directing the activities and functions of the Centralized Staffing Resource Office including supervising and providing direction to department staff, overseeing all aspects of the Hospital Staff Scheduling operations, including system maintenance, management of the day to day 24 hour operations and the delivery of Staff Scheduling services. The manager is responsible for the development and sustainment of standard work practices according to the individual collective agreements or hospital policies, ensuring compliance with all staffing needs of the individual clinical areas throughout the hospital.
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of related experience, preferably in a unionized environment, required.
Minimum two (2) years of experience in the execution and application of collective agreements is required.
Minimum two (2) years management or supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment, required.
Previous project management experience is preferred.
Previous experience working with staff scheduling systems is preferred.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience, as deemed recognized by the Hospital, may be considered in lieu of the above.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
A degree or diploma from a recognized college or university in a related field (Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Computer Science, etc.).

Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge and proficiency in the use of common software applications including word processing, email and internet applications.
Advanced proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and database applications.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high demand environment adhering to strict deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Strong teamwork and team leadership skills to interact and work effectively with various levels of staff both internally and externally.
