Your opportunity:
The Office of International Academic Programs and Initiatives is responsible for advancing UTSC’s academic goals by designing and delivering academic programs and initiatives to international students. The mandate of the office is to provide cutting-edge programs and experiences to international students; to assist seamless transition for international students to degree studies at University of Toronto.

As the International Student Recruitment Officer, you will be joining a small dedicated team of international education experts to continue and build sustainable enrollment with targeted and intensive recruitment efforts in collaboration with our Registrar Office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering student recruitment presentations, locally and internationally in English and Mandarin
- Fostering positive relationships with prospective students, teachers, counsellors and parents
- Fostering and maintaining a network of external contacts to support recruitment strategies
- Scheduling travel plans and requesting appropriate accommodations for self or others
- Conducting detailed data analysis to inform recruitment strategies and plans
- Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
- Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
- Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years of recent and relevant experience in student recruitment with proven success recruiting in Asian markets.
- Must be fluent in Mandarin (both written and spoken).
- Demonstrated experience and excellence in public speaking to small and large audiences and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Must have experience working with diverse communities and have a high level of cross-cultural awareness, understanding and sensitivity of those facing systemic barriers.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues related to student recruitment, academic programming and university life.
- Advanced Proficiency in MS Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with client relationship management tools and databases.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting audio visual equipment (e.g., projector, screens, microphones, laptop, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate sound judgment and tact under pressure when handling complex and sensitive matters.
- Must possess the ability to relate to students in a manner which builds trust and confidence.
- Have a high degree of organizational, planning and coordination skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to be flexible in adjusting to changing circumstances in order to manage multiple and concurrent deadlines, initiatives and scheduling.
