Reporting jointly to the Vice-President Academic on all academic matters and to the Vice-President People, Equity and Inclusion on matters related to equity and employee experience, Faculty Relations leads employer relations with the SFU Faculty Association bargaining unit and directs and administers all employment-related processes associated with the faculty career life cycle.
About the Role
This position is responsible for providing high-level, confidential advising services on the application and administration of the SFUFA collective agreement and University policies and procedures to deans, directors, and other academic and administrative staff in SFU's School of Medicine.

Qualifications
Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field of study, with three years of related experience including experience in recruitment and salary administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent client service skills.
Excellent problem solving and analytical reasoning skills and judgment.
Ability to build collaborative relationships when working with others.
Knowledge of employment and labour legislation (e.g. employment standards, labour relations, and human rights).
Knowledge of university administration and structure.

Additional Information
The assignment end date is 1 year from start date.
This role may be required to work on both the Burnaby and Surrey campuses
The pay range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for the position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
