The Opportunity
We are currently accepting applications for a motivated Ed Lab Technologist to join our School of Construction Tech team. This position is to mainly support the Pipetrades department along with assisting other programs across the School of Construction.
Reporting to the Academic Chair, the Ed-Tech is accountable for promoting a positive and interactive learning environment with hands-on learning. You will support faculty by ensuring our lab is fully operational and stocked with supplies.

The Role
Work with faculty to ensure labs are stocked with appropriate supplies
Prepare and present labs through equipment maintenance and cleaning duties
Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to faculty and management
Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
Assess program designs and continually work to keep SAIT current and on the leading edge of technology and skill within the program you support
Qualifications & Experience
Preference is given to those with an Alberta Journeyperson ticket in one of Plumber, Gasfitter, or Steamfitter trades, with 5 years’ experience in related field
Journeyperson ticket in a second similar or related trade is considered an asset
Possess a positive, respectful attitude, and a high commitment to student success and collaboration
Skills Required
Ability to continually upgrade to meet the needs of the students and facility as required
Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong time management and organizational skills
Aptitude for working well within a team environment
