Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT Radiology Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. In this role, you will work with patients in an outpatient setting and Emergency Department, allowing you to gain plenty of hands-on experience and enhance your skills, which can lead to growth within the imaging field and Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works rotating days/evenings from 9:30AM – 10:00PM or 7:30AM – 8:00PM. Caregivers may work 4 10-hour shifts or 3 12-hour shifts. Stow Health and Wellness Center will be the primary work location, but floating to Bath, Green and Tallmadge will be required, as needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform computerized tomography procedures to aid in diagnosing disease or injury. Prepare and educate patients for CT exams. Assess patient's clinical history and adjust techniques and protocols on equipment to correspond to patient habitus and pathology. Research lab values for patient and inject contrast under the direction of Radiologist (bolus or power injectors). Perform exams and transfer results from the CT console to Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS). Observe patients constantly and respond to any adverse reactions to ensure safety. Work with referring physicians to ensure the correct exam is ordered and performed for the patient. Oversee maintenance of equipment to ensure full calibration and complete functioning. Keep abreast of new developments in field by attending appropriate meetings/seminars and reviewing current literature to maintain required state of Ohio and AART continuing education credits. Proficiently transfer to other modalities as qualified and/or needed, utilizing proper exam protocols and injection procedures. Comply with Radiology Information System and PACS entry requirements for accurate patient, film and supply tracking monitors. Complete mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintain applicable certification, licensure and registration. Assist and support the Radiologic student program by providing supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures, reviewing images with students and providing quarterly evaluations.
