Job Description: Two positions located at 1480 Sutherland Ave. Kelowna BC: 1 - 39 hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 1 - 8 hours: Saturday Position Purpose summary: The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. Kettle Scheduler position is a short-term contract position. The successful candidate is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties as below. Must have a solid understanding of basic to intermediate computer operation including Microsoft 365 programs, data entry, internet browsers, and some file management and ability to create reports. Be a positive and outgoing representative of The Salvation Army Okanagan Central. Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to Administrative and Internal Communications Manager Provide training to and the orientation of volunteers assuring proper Kettle handling and duties as required Schedule, supervise, support and assign Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (bi-weekly basis) • Respond to questions/queries from volunteers and site hosts. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Governance Boards and Councils: n/a Internal: TSA staff members, Kettle campaign team External: Community members MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Reports directly to Administrative and Internal Communications Coordinator Gives Supervision to Volunteer Kettle Workers. FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT: • Collect donations in accordance to policies and procedures ensuring donations are always kept secure. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate). A Driver’s Abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enthusiastic Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 – 25 lbs) Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $20.64 with a maximum of $24.77. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
