As a Procurement Specialist, you'll be part of the Americas Procurement Category team, focusing on supporting global categories in the Americas region. Reporting to the Senior Director of Category Management Americas, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our scientific innovations reach patients quickly and efficiently. Accountabilities: The role sits on the Americas Procurement Category team focused in the Americas region reporting to the Senior Director Category Management Americas. The role is focused on supporting the global categories based in the Americas (Media, Advertising, Med Comms, Market Access PR, Patient Programs and CSO) This role will work with the relevant Director/ Associate Director to manage a spend category or part of a market across a country, region or the whole of AstraZeneca (may be single or multiple SET areas). Helps develop long-term strategic plans for the entire spend area within AstraZeneca or Region. Works closely with customers and suppliers to ensure that Category Strategies are highly aligned to current and future Business needs and that the supply base is capable of supporting these strategies. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor procurement KPIs (e.g., cost savings, supplier performance, and contract compliance). Collaborate with procurement team members to support strategic initiatives with data-driven insights, enabling better decision-making and measurable outcomes. Essential Skills/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a field closely related to procurement, supply chain, operations management, business analytics, or finance. Minimum of two (2) years experience in procurement sourcing and category management Oral and written fluency in English Strong analytical, financial and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with moderately complex datasets to derive actionable insights. Proficiency in data compilation and visualization using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx; passion for data analytics and how it can improve procurement performance. Ability to present clear, data-driven recommendations and influence others Project management skills Strong communication and influencing skills Desired Skills/Experience: Masters’s Degree, in a field closely related to procurement, supply chain, operations management, business analytics, or finance. Professional Procurement Qualification Experience with Consulting, Financial, or other Professional services procurement categories Strong working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry / or related industries Significant negotiation experience with favorable outcomes for the stakeholders.
