Job Description: Job Summary The Leadership & Legacy Giving Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the donor development cycle and stewardship of donors and prospects who have capacity to give at the major gift and planned giving level. A goal of ensuring strategic, highly personalized engagement with donors who have a passion for philanthropic impact, the incumbent will maximize revenue to support mission priorities. This position focuses on donor centered fundraising through the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of a robust portfolio of donors and prospects in support of The Salvation Army. Key Accountabilities Research, qualify, and manage a robust pipeline of prospects and donors to build lasting, philanthropic relationships. Collaborate with territorial and divisional teams to align donor engagement strategies and ensure coordinated relationship management. Conduct discovery meetings and prepare detailed contact reports, proposals, and customized engagement plans. Promote awareness of The Salvation Army’s relationship fundraising programs for both leadership and legacy giving. Implement a strategic donor engagement plan, dedicating approximately 60% of time to in-person interactions. Manage the legacy donor cycle, maintaining an annual target of 80% revocable and 20% irrevocable planned gifts. Partner with program leads to develop and refine a strategic fundraising framework that reflects best practices and market trends. Stay informed on planned giving trends, tax laws, and legislation, ensuring accurate and effective donor communication. Prepare and present high-quality materials—including proposals, solicitation plans, gift agreements, and stewardship reports—to support donor engagement and leadership involvement. Maintain comprehensive records in Raiser’s Edge NXT, tracking donor interactions, outcomes, and progress toward fundraising goals. Education and Experience Qualifications Post-secondary diploma/degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Fundraising CFRE or working toward CFRE designation preferred. Collaborative team player with the ability to build and maintain strong partnerships across the organization. Highly organized and detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally. Proven ability to plan, lead, and deliver projects that meet organizational goals and outcomes. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); graphic design skills considered an asset. Skilled at managing multiple priorities and adapting to a variety of tasks and demands. Demonstrated experience in donor relations, providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive donor engagement. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $66,831.48 to $83,539.35 with a maximum of $100,247.22. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
