Scrum Master – Digital Transformation
Drive agile transformation in the insurance industry through enterprise-scale data and integration initiatives. This hybrid role based in Markham involves Agile delivery, stakeholder facilitation, and collaboration on Informatica MDM projects. High-impact, fast-paced environment with opportunities for strategic contribution.
What is in it for you:
• 10-month contract.
• Salaried: $85-90 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $100-105 per hour.
• Hybrid mode: 3 days per week on-site, subject to change.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Remove technical, organizational, or interpersonal impediments that impact progress.
• Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, promoting a self-organizing and high-performing culture.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure transparency around goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Enforce Agile discipline and adherence to internal governance frameworks.
• Support sprint planning by guiding estimation, story splitting, and alignment with delivery plans.
• Track and report on team velocity, burndown charts, and sprint metrics.
• Manage backlog prioritization and grooming in collaboration with Product Owners.
• Ensure clarity and completeness of user stories, including well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Escalate risks and blockers promptly, supporting timely resolution.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies through JIRA and SharePoint for full visibility.
• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven retrospectives and action follow-through.
What you will need to succeed:
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Scrum Master certification (e.g., PSM, CSM) is preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience applying Agile methodologies, ideally within the insurance industry.
• Hands-on experience with Guidewire and Informatica MDM platforms is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to influence without authority and lead teams toward shared goals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Solid understanding of Agile principles and delivery frameworks.
