Job Description WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? Senior Trade Officer Guarantees supports with end-to-end processing of Trade Finance product i.e. Guarantees / Standby Letter of Credit. The competence with which the incumbent’s duties are carried out has a major impact on operational, financial and on the reputation risks on the RBC globally and on its clients. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Input/Release function for all activities including issuance, amendment, cancellation and payment related to Standby LCs /Guarantees. Ability to prioritize for impact as it pertains to workload and volumes. Manage internal and external client relationships from a service perspective, including direct client interactions where appropriate. Proactively manage escalated items to satisfactory resolution. Responsible for the end-to-end transaction for internal/external clients. Provides consistent service within established Client Service Commitments/Service Partner Commitments and seeks to improve the quality, timeliness and consistency of responses to clients Exercise diligence in complying with operational risk policies and guidelines. Flexibly applies rules or procedures, while remaining guided by the organization’s values. Reviews the work of others for accuracy and thoroughness. Follows up to ensure tasks are completed and commitments are met by others. Verifies that work has been done according to procedures and standards. Ensures junior staff balance work and life responsibilities while striving for client results. Motivates and coaches’ others to follow own example of excellence. Coaches to close gaps in team members' knowledge of products, services and solutions. Acts as a subject matter expert on own products/services. Identify opportunities for streamlining to improve efficiency and improve client experience. Comply with Anti-Money Laundering guidelines and policies, Trade Restricted Countries and Risk Approval processes. Ensures that all required training remains current (AML, Code of Conduct, Health and Safety). Ensures the identification of recurring system and procedural problems, recommending possible solutions. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have: Knowledge of product rules set by ICC (UCP600, ISP98, URDG758, ISBP) Trade software such as Trade 360 (T360) 3-5 years Trade processing knowledge with a good knowledge of Guarantees and Standby Letter of Credit Excellent client experience and communication skills (verbal and written). Nice-to-have: Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) Knowledge of Swift 7 series message and payment. What’s in it for you?
