The Opportunity The Facilities Integrity Engineering Services team consists of experts who leverage technical skills to maximize the system value of our North American facility assets by balancing risk, performance, and cost. We provide Subject Matter Expert support to Operations and Engineering teams on cross-system, discipline, and trending issues, when specialized capabilities are needed. We are the technical authority for engineering specifications, industry codes, and standard requirements for facility systems and equipment. Our goal is to formulate and implement maintenance strategies aimed at preventing equipment failures, mitigating risks, and enhancing reliability to optimize asset lifecycle value. As a Senior Facilities Integrity Engineer, you will support the safe, reliable and efficient management of TC Energy pressure equipment by leveraging your expertise in managing the integrity of boilers, pressure vessels and pressure relief devices in alignment with regulations and industry best practices. This role will report to the Manager, Facility Integrity Engineering Services Canada, and work closely with the ABSA Chief Inspector to support the TC Energy ABSA Program including the newly implemented Risk Based Inspection Program. To succeed in this role, you will work closely with Operations, Projects, vendors, and regulators to understand and navigate complex issues to guide appropriate decisions that effectively manage risk. The ideal candidate will foster relationships across industry, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to drive effective asset management. As a valued member of the team, you’ll guide, support and coach team members and peers. What you’ll do Support the ABSA Program in collaboration with the TC Energy Chief Inspector, including: Liaison with the regulator regarding incidents, technical matters and inspection results. Support inspection procedures, major inspection findings, repair procedures and disposition of findings that affect the pressure envelope integrity Ensure inspector competency, certification and performance Technical review and pre-qualification of pressure equipment vendors Guide closure weld procedure, tubing repair/replace and car seal programs Support integrity inspections, Fitness for Service assessments, and other tasks assigned by the Chief Inspector Support the execution, maturing and expansion of the Risk Based Inspection Program Provide subject matter experience and specialized support to operations and projects, to inform effective decisions and manage complex issues with pressure equipment Monitor and advise on applicable legal requirements, external codes and standards Perform integrity inspections and assessment of pressure equipment Ensuring Operations implement integrity inspection findings follow-up action plans Maintain and update pressure equipment inventory and inspection reports in the Asset Management System Coordinate with Operations and implement Integrity Operating Windows for pressure equipment Be a conduit for information sharing by communicating best practices, improvement opportunities, new technologies and general information to others in the organization Complete and support other tasks, as assigned Minimum Qualifications University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, or other relevant discipline) Professional Engineer (P.Eng) registered in the province of Alberta - APEGA 10+ years of relevant industry experience managing the integrity of pressure equipment Working knowledge of applicable industry Codes and Standards relevant to pressure equipment (Onshore Pipeline Regulations (OPR), CSA Z662, CSA B51, ASME BPVC, AB-505, API 510, 570, 576, 580, 581, etc..) Technical experience in integrity inspections and Non-Destructive Examination, asset management, risk management, risk-based and condition-based maintenance Experience in the application of engineering standards, specifications and procedures Technical experience in engineering design, design oversight and quality assurance Exceptional interpersonal communication and influencing skills to be able to partner and work with company stakeholders across North America with different backgrounds and priorities Pragmatic with strong decision-making skills and engineering judgment Preferred Qualifications Deep engineering expertise in pressure equipment and related systems Experience with modern condition monitoring and predictive analytical methods and their applicability to pressure equipment Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve ambiguous engineering problems requiring strong personal accountability and self-development Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex issues to different levels of leadership Strong negotiation and conflict management skills To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-Hybrid About our business We are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
