Working with our Governance, Risk & Controls team in Calgary, this will be a full-time student position from May through August 2026 within the Assurance team. The Assurance team is responsible for testing the effectiveness of our internal controls and mitigations. During your summer, you will gain exposure to the energy industry by attending sessions hosted by subject matter experts and will have an opportunity to showcase your learnings with your student network. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE: Assist the assurance team in meeting their assurance deliverables by performing testing over Financial Reporting controls, and mitigations related to various corporate and operational functions Support the annual assessment of our Health, Safety & Environment practices Identify opportunities to enhance and improve the quality of controls and/or mitigations across the company including assisting the business in reviewing and updating where required. Assist in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of assurance reports and PowerBI dashboards Assist in the development of the Integrated Control Framework in order to streamline planning of controls and mitigation assurance testing as well as identify where any gaps may exist Manage incoming control change requests, ensuring they are addressed timely and in accordance with internal processes Support business needs by analyzing existing governance documentation and updating content, where required WHAT YOU BRING: Actively enrolled in Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting major, or a similar post-secondary program in Canada, and must be returning to undergraduate studies after the work term Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills Experience with PowerBi or other data visualization tools is considered an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enjoys working in a team environment and building strong working relationships across the organization Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong time and data management skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments Job postings are typically only open for applications for one week so please submit your resume, cover letter, and transcript today.
