JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Site Leader and DOC, is responsible for the implementation, coordination, and supervision of the delivery of the Resident centered care model of Resident care for a program area. Ensures a commitment to Resident Safety and to our “Culture of Safety” as per the Strategic Directions of Park Place Seniors Living.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing - RN program.
- Must be certified in CPR.
- Palliative Experience preferred
- Current Criminal record check with vulnerable sector.
FTE: 0.6 - part-time
WAGE: To be determined upon experience
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assures Resident care is managed according to the individual needs of the Resident. Directs, supervises and evaluates nursing staff in their application of direct basic care, lifts and transfers and treatments. Provides guidance and instruction to staff, families and Residents in the delivery of nursing care. Communicates policies, programs and procedures to staff. Assures regular Interdisciplinary Team Conferences (IDTC) conferences held by care teams.

Assures Resident care is provided and guided by the philosophy, policies, programs and procedures in such areas as the administration of medications, application of treatments, performance of Resident assessments, feeding, IDTC, etc.

Assures nursing process is used to assess Resident needs and to collect and compile data, identify problems, assure development, communication, implementation and evaluation of Resident care plans. (Resident Day, Family Story)

Schedules and coordinates nursing staff, use of equipment and other resources.

Consults and communicates with Interdisciplinary team which may include physicians and community resources.

Assures Resident chart is maintained as per procedures in manuals. Collects, compiles and reports statistical and quality improvement data for research and evaluation purposes.

Carries out a variety of leadership functions designed to promote quality Resident care and enhance individual and staff morale such as team building and coaching.

Provides input to service Quality activities and projects through participation on committees and projects, and evaluation work processes. Provides customer driven service as per Resident centered mode.

Demonstrating professionalism, communicates with the Interdisciplinary Team, Residents, families and the public.

Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development and maintenance of competence in order to meet the standards of CRNBC standards of Practice for Clinical Practitioner.
