Ride the next mile with us! Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of automation engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Define team objectives and ensure alignment of projects with the company’s strategy. Develop team members’ skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to automation systems and sorting operations. Automation System Design & Deployment: Oversee the design, optimization, and implementation of automated sorting systems, including conveyors, robotic arms, sensors, and vision-based identification technologies. Ensure the seamless integration of automated systems with existing infrastructure and software platforms. Work closely with vendors and partners to support the installation and commissioning of automation equipment. Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Analyze the performance of automated systems and identify opportunities for improvement to maximize operational efficiency. Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure equipment reliability and longevity. Apply data-driven approaches to enhance sorting accuracy and optimize operational workflows. Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technical, operational, and IT teams to ensure automation solutions align with business needs. Develop and manage project documentation, including business requirement analyses, business cases, process diagrams, technical specifications, and test plans. Ensure effective communication of project updates to stakeholders and propose solutions to operational challenges. Required Qualifications: Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, ideally in the transportation, logistics, or warehouse management sector. Proven experience in team management and technical leadership. Technical & Functional Skills: Expertise in automation systems: conveyors, automated sorting, robotic arms, sensors, vision-based identification technologies. Strong understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Knowledge of automation system integration architectures and industrial communication protocols. Familiarity with PLCs, microcontrollers, and other industrial control technologies. Experience in data analysis and process optimization in an automated sorting environment. Understanding of Agile methodologies and the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Leadership & Communication Skills: Strong expertise in team management, mentoring, and talent development. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize strategic initiatives. Advanced problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills in English and French, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for different audiences.
