Our Ascent property in the Upper Mission requires a strong leader to build a vibrant community where people love where they live by providing exceptional customer service to our valued Community Members.

THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Community Leader your role is to lead the multi-family community, while aligning Highstreet's values with creating a visibly unique community that Community Members (tenants) are proud to call home.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Screening of Community Members and leasing
Resolve Community Member disputes
Managing the eviction process of those that do not share Highstreet’s values
Rent collection
Maintenance of accurate leases and financial records on a regular reporting schedule
Accountable for managing Community budgets and reviewing financial information to ensure all operations remain on budget
Posting updates to the Community Facebook group
Leading community-based initiatives that support the local area (ex. charity drives, local community teams, and other shelters).
Event organization and Community Member engagement
Maintain Highstreet's standard of appearance, upkeep, and maintenance within the Community
Participating in a shared on-call schedule that includes weekends and evenings
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
While identifying with our values, the ideal candidate must have strong customer service, Leadership and administrative background. Also, the following characteristics are essential within the Community Leader role:
High attention to detail and eagerness to do things the right way
Ability to communicate openly and ethically with a positive attitude
Thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
Be a team player, be self-motivated, and efficient
Assertiveness, follow through, and organizational skills with respect to paperwork is essential
Being a self-starter who requires little direction while keeping a strong desire to do the right thing
Possessing a can-do attitude to a variety of tasks and difficult situations
Keen negotiator with excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Required experience:
Two plus years in a leadership position
Strong understanding of costs and financial management
Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
Strong customer service and administrative background
Technically savvy, and proficiency with MS Office Suite
Good physical conditioning and stamina
Willingness to work outside as required
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
Basic knowledge of building repairs and maintenance
Additional requirements:
Satisfactory criminal record and credit check.
Compensation Package:
Annual Salary: $70,000
Annual Bonus: Highstreet pays an annual bonus based on company performance. A typical bonus for a Community Leader is approximately 14% of annual salary. Determined annually, the bonus could be more or less, depending on performance results.
Investment Opportunity: Highstreet encourages all employees to share in our success by offering the opportunity to invest in the projects we build and operate. To encourage employee investment, Highstreet matches employee investment at 50%, up to 20% of annual salary (i.e. for every $1 invested by the employee, Highstreet invests $0.50 on the employee's behalf). The investments are TFSA and RRSP eligible.
