IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

FortisOntario is a leading private sector utility in Ontario with approximately 70,000 customers. We are looking for an organized problem-solver with a positive attitude with the ability to prioritize and work well independently and within a team environment. The IT Systems Administrator will work from either our Cornwall, Fort Erie, Sault Ste. Marie, or Thunder Bay offices, under the general day to day direction of the Corporate Supervisor, Enterprise Infrastructure and Security. This role is responsible for ensuring alignment and compliance with Company and regulatory processes, hardware/software management, providing technical solutions, and much more!
Key functions of this role:
- Administer and maintain servers, networks, and system infrastructure including Cloud platforms.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Resolve tier three (3) technical support issues regarding enterprise technologies.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, NERC-CIP, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to improve system performance and reliability.
- Support end-user training initiatives pertaining to cybersecurity awareness, Microsoft, & other productivity tools.
- Support and assist as a resource with ad hoc requests as required.
- Other duties and projects as required.
What makes you a successful candidate?
- Post-secondary education in an Information Technology-related discipline, such as Computer Science, Computer Programming, Business Information Systems, or similar.
- Experience with Cloud platforms considered an asset.
- Experience with one or more ITSM platforms would be considered an asset.
- Extremely motivated and self-directed with excellent interpersonal, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills to work with our internal customers.
- Up-to-date vendor certification(s) considered an asset.
- Travel to other FortisOntario locations may be required. Candidate must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
