Your Role As a Gensler Project Architect - Critical Facilities , you will collaborate with our Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect's sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do Collaborate on design projects in the critical facilities, life sciences, and healthcare practice areas, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and documentation Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives Documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.) Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs Your Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school Licensure required 10+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design Experience within Critical Facilities projects (i.e. data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) healthcare projects, or similarly complex projects (i.e. science/labs/national labs, light-industrial/manufacturing, high-tech manufacturing, healthcare, aviation & transportation, etc.) preferred Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required Strong Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office experience desired. Enscape also beneficial Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants Experience working directly with contractors Experience resolving complex technical and design issues Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable.
