We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Engineering Operations & Infrastructure Strategy to lead infrastructure operations across on-premises, cloud, and mainframe environments. You will oversee a team of infrastructure application owners, driving system health, stability, and strategic growth. Key responsibilities include environment planning, automation, incident and disaster recovery, service ID governance, vendor management, and fostering team wellbeing. You will also manage workflows, budgets, and performance, while providing technical guidance and reporting to senior stakeholders. What you'll do Environment Health and Maintenance: Maintain a stable, secure, and optimized operational environment through proactive monitoring, infrastructure and application patching, certificate lifecycle management, firewall rule reviews, system health checks, and performance metrics tracking to minimize service disruptions. Vulnerability Management: Lead efforts to identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities across systems and applications. Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure timely patching, risk mitigation, and compliance with internal and external security standards. Infrastructure Application Ownership: Manage infrastructure application owners who are accountable for all infrastructure-related responsibilities within their defined technology stack. This includes overseeing integrations with upstream and downstream systems, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, and maintaining operational resilience across the ecosystem. Infrastructure Architecture Artefacts and Assets: Accountable for maintaining and creating infrastructure architecture artefacts and assets. This includes ensuring documentation is current, accessible, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards, and that artefacts support operational, security, and integration needs. Environment Strategy Across Regions: Accountable for defining and maintaining the environment strategy across different regions within the organization. Ensure that existing infrastructure can support change delivery needs and lead the creation of new environments where applicable to meet evolving business and technology demands. Lights-On and Run Delivery Backlog Management: Accountable for defining and maintaining the environment strategy across different regions within the organization. Ensure that existing infrastructure can support change delivery needs and lead the creation of new environments where applicable to meet evolving business and technology demands. Infrastructure Automation for Simplification and Efficiency: Drive infrastructure automation to enhance simplification and efficiency by automating environment provisioning and decommissioning, deploying self-healing scripts, integrating patching and compliance into CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible for consistent, repeatable deployments and monitoring automation. Infrastructure Hosting Management: Manage diverse infrastructure hosting environments—including on-premises DXC solutions, AWS and GW Cloud platforms, and mainframe applications—ensuring stability, scalability, compliance, and seamless integration with modern systems and architecture best practices. Infrastructure Incident Management Oversight: Accountable for managing infrastructure owners who are responsible for incident management within their application stack. Act as the primary lead for infrastructure-related incidents. Oversee infrastructure incident management by leading response efforts, supporting application owners during infrastructure-related impacts, and ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement to enhance service reliability. Service ID Management: Accountable for overseeing service ID management across all infrastructure-related IDs. This includes ensuring proper provisioning, lifecycle governance, access controls, and compliance with identity and security policies. DXC Relationship Management: Accountable for acting as the relationship manager for DXC in relation to on-premises hosted infrastructure solutions. This includes managing service expectations, resolving escalations, aligning delivery with strategic goals, and ensuring contractual obligations and performance metrics are met. Disaster Recovery Infrastructure Oversight: Accountable for disaster recovery infrastructure activities across the organization. This includes managing infrastructure owners responsible for executing yearly disaster recovery plans, validating recovery capabilities, and ensuring readiness to restore services in the event of disruption. Status and Health Tracking: Accountable for tracking and reporting on various infrastructure-related metrics including backlog health, risks and issues, and team health. This includes maintaining visibility into delivery progress, identifying blockers, and ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution mechanisms are in place to support operational excellence. What you'll bring Proven experience in infrastructure operations, architecture, and automation within complex enterprise environments. Strong understanding of security and vulnerability management practices, with a track record of driving remediation and compliance. Expertise in managing hybrid hosting environments, including on-premises, cloud (AWS, GW Cloud), and mainframe systems. Proficiency in automation tools and practices, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value. Strategic mindset with the ability to define and execute environment strategies across regions and platforms. Strong organizational skills with a focus on operational resilience, incident management, and service reliability.
