Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure and DevOps, the DevOps Engineering Lead is a key member of the team responsible for maintaining Sagen’s cloud infrastructure and software lifecycle. The role is responsible for proactively supporting the business through management of cloud infrastructure with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
Here is where you will be focusing to ensure your success.
Lead the development, management and maintenance of cloud platforms, services and components to enable safe enterprise-wide use of common cloud functionality.
Provide primary support for cloud infrastructure incident resolution and requests, including after-hours support as required.
Lead design discussions focused on stability, design, and implementation of best practices.
Lead Infrastructure as Code approaches while managing Terraform configuration drift.
Manage Gitlab and related CI/CD solutions, and related applications such as Artifactory, Xray, and SonarQube.
Driving Identity and Access Management and configuration management (AWS IAM Identity Center), and monitoring strategies for AWS.
Develop, configure, and manage over 50 AWS services, including compute, EKS, storage, database, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, Sagemaker, Kafka, MKS, and more.
Develop and maintain monitoring for systems and workloads.
Monitor and manage the performance of vendor partners that support cloud operations.
Provide technical direction to other members of the DevOps and broader IT team for cloud engineering issues.
The role requires regular in-office presence and the ability to work outside standard office hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
What we are looking for.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field.
AWS Solutions Architect certification would be an asset.
A minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience working with business, applications and infrastructure teams to design and implement IAAS, PAAS cloud solutions on AWS. Azure experience an asset.
Fluent in modern DevOps and IaC approaches, including Terraform, containerized (EKS), and serverless microservices, architectures and related technologies.
A minimum of 3+ years managing AWS S3, Lambda, AWS Transfer family.
Experience with tools like IBM MQ and Device 42 (CMDB) are beneficial.
Prior experience implementing test plans (including functionality, integrity, and stress testing: test matrices: and definition of test methodologies and strategy).
Prior experience performing routine infrastructure analysis, and evaluation of resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service levels.
Strong verbal & written communication skills are required as the role is responsible for accurate recording and exchange of complex information.
Demonstrated superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
A demonstrated willingness and ability to collaborate and act as part of a team, with a focus on cross-group collaboration.

This position requires work from our Oakville office but offers a flexible hybrid work model that allows employees to work remotely from their home office.
