As the Shipper/Receiver you will be responsible for efficiently managing the shipping and receiving processes within the plant. This role involves preparing outbound shipments, receiving and inspecting incoming goods ensuring that records are accurately maintained in the process. To excel in this role, you will possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Location: 1403 Dundas Street, Woodstock, ON
Dedicated Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm – 2:00am, Monday – Thursday
Shift Premium: $3.00 per hour, in addition to the base rate
Job Duties
Shipping orders: prepare and pack orders for shipment, create shipping labels and documentation, such as bills of lading and coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups
Receiving shipments; unload trucks and deliveries, inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage, record and update inventory levels and sort / stock receivables.
Load, unload, move and pack products and materials by hand or with material handling equipment (forklift, walkies, pump cart, cranes)
Ensures that all products are moved and stored in a safe manner.
Assist in counting and organizing product when required.
Professionally responds to calls / emails from external and internal customers.
Follow written directions; interpret schedules and shipping documents
Cooperatively works with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the work process by analyzing activities, identifying causes and suggesting appropriate solutions
Skills and Experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Adapt to a changing work environment, completing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
Physical requirements include the use of strength such as pulling, pushing, lifting and/or moving objects during the work, as well as standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending.
Potential exposure to weather changes (hot, cold, wind, rain, etc.) when working outside.
Qualifications
Previous experience in Shipping / receiving within a heavy manufacturing environment
Experience operating a crane and forklift, or willingness to learn
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Strong computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
