For over 80 years, John Brooks Company has been solving fluid handling challenges for customers in various industries/markets across Canada by providing a diverse selection of engineered products and innovative system designs, focusing on customized solutions consisting of filtration, pump, spray, and valve products.
This is a 12-18 month contract.
THE ROLE
Under the supervision of the Procurement Supervisor, the position is responsible for the procurement of supplies and equipment, goods, materials, and services at the most favorable price for the Company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Procures and places orders for goods, materials, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Manages and maintains appropriate inventory levels to meet customer and operational needs.
Reviews Material Resource Planning (MRP) data and forecasts to support purchasing and inventory decisions.
Prepares and administers bids, quotes, and vendor documentation.
Resolves shortages or delivery delays by coordinating alternate arrangements.
Develops and maintains strong vendor relationships, including negotiating pricing and managing returns or credits.
Ensures data accuracy for part numbers, pricing, and supplier information in inventory systems.
Monitors and reports on inventory and backorder performance to support business goals.
Stays current on market and pricing trends to optimize purchasing strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
College Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Professional designation in supply chain or procurement, such as SCMP, NISCL, CSCL, MCIPS, APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or CTSC.
9 years of related experience.
Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software required.
Advanced computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word etc.), advanced Excel skills.
