Kristian Electric is looking for a Service Writer to join our Edmonton branch.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Service Writer
Location: Edmonton
Role Summary: The primary functions of the Service Writer, are to manage all aspects of customer communication, service scheduling, as well as repair orders and invoice processing. You will be very customer focused, helping customers as they walk in providing information based on customer requests and inquiries. You will be knowledgeable in welder parts, services, and warranties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer calls, inquiries, and e-mails
- Coordinating any walk-in customers
- Service booking and planning work orders
- Adjusting repair orders to reflect any changes or additions to the required work
- Managing repair order priority
- Maintain constant communication with the Welder Service Foreman, and Welder Service Technicians on all job progress
- Verifying all labor and parts are accounted for on Work Orders and Invoices, both commercial and internal
- Communicating with the back shop personnel for yard access
- Opening new work orders and equipment in Foundation when needed
- Assisting to price work orders
- Typing work order reports in Foundation
- Communicating with customers for PO’s as needed
- Communicating with customers with estimates, parts orders and pickups, machine updates, and when machines are ready for pick up
- Close work order and invoice customers when the job is complete
- Collect and communicate due payment from customers
- Work with the Purchaser to prepare work orders that require approved parts ordered in

Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Experience
- 1-2 years of Service Writer experience in an industrial organization
- 1-2 years of customer service and/or administrative experience
