The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Settlements Administrator to join our Operations team.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Settlements; the Settlements Administrator is responsible for duties relating to the transactions of trades that have taken place within the securities industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for the settlement of foreign &/or domestic Equity trades within the CDSX, DTC or CDCC system, including equity option settlements.
There may be a requirement to work on a statutory holiday or weekend.

What your day looks like:
Set up and match trades on CDS or Arrow within industry standards
Matching confirmations of trades done with other institutions
Interaction with sales representatives to resolve unmatched or unprocessed trades
Ensure all trades are processed and settled within the required time frame
Balance and correct any outages in the day-to-day processing using the various reports received from the CDS and Dataphile systems
Interact with Brokerage Firms and Custodians to correct or confirm trades done or not matched
Maintaining, updating and tracking the failed trades and reasons for fails
Balance monthly statements from external sources
Follow the policy and procedures manual for the settlements team
Responsible for the tracking and maintaining of files relating to daily settlements and storage of such records
Other duties as assigned and help others when needed
Your experience and skills:
Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
Minimum 2 years' experience in an office environment, preferably in the securities industry with experience using Dataphile, CDS and DTC
Industry related certifications are not required, however successful completion of the CSC (Canadian Securities Course) or IFIC Operations course is an asset
Ability to work independently to achieve required objectives within company and regulatory requirements
Self-motivated and results driven
Strong administration skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service orientation
Strong organizational, time management and decision-making skills
Demonstrated success in resource planning, coaching, motivation and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management and staff
Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office Knowledge.
Fluency (written and spoken) in English is required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
Work hours may vary due to industry demands or volume - this role works Eastern time zone business hours

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
